A city once full with people and life, Pompeii the ancient city that was destroyed by the mighty Vesuvius is nothing more than a burial ground now. Around 79 AD super volcano Mount Vesuvius erupted for two days, destroying the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Altering the land around the Naples bay leaving the sky dark as night for days, this was one of history's most devastating volcanic eruptions.  The streets of Pompeii are lined with ruins from the past that are covered in volcanic ash. The remains of dead bodies still in their positions of death, and preserved in ash. Walking through Pompeii you will see Mount Vesuvius overlooking everything, its hard to belive that such a beautiful piece of nature can do so much harm. The experience of exploring this ancient city is like nothing else. A historical reminder of the power of mother nature, and how quickly the planet can change.
