While on the island of Bali, Indonesia, I was lucky enough to witness the final stage of the burial process for the Hindu religion. This was the stage of taking the ashes from the cremated body and releasing them back to a sacred body of water. This person that had died was released into the ocean during sunset. It was a mesmorizing and beautiful ceremony to watch. The entire family was present and everyone released flowers into the ocean along with the remains of their loved one. This ceremony helped me to realise the significance of birth, death, and life. These three stages of the universe may be unique or one of many to come. The important thing is to appreciate all three stages equally. Birth, death, and everything in between are what makes the universe a reality.
